Japan 2007

The Salem Ota Cultural Exchange sends a group to Japan to be hosted by the Ota Salem Club every other year. But in 2007, it was every year. And nobody had gone for three years. So the asked the docents at the Peabody Essex Museum, and Sharon and many others said YES! So we went.

The tour included Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nara, Mia Jima, and Nikko. Fabulous!.

We had a homestay with the Osugi family. We spent a day in Tokyo with Yamada Zen san, Takagi Tsuneko san, and another. The first two are friends to this day (the third has passed on). I have pictures of my dear friend Suzuki Ikuyo san, though we never actually met then. ll in all, it was a terrific trip.
